The Trans-America Trail

ABOUT THE BLOG

The Trans America Trail is a 5,000 mile trail from coast to coast that spans across 11 states with the goal being to use as little paved roads as possible.  The trail was created by Sam Correro over a 12 year span intended to be a dual sport motorcycle trail, since then the route has grown to accomidate 4x4 vehicles as well. The trail is constantly updated by Sam to ensure only public land is used so no issues with locked gates or other issues posed by crossing over private land arise.   From the people we have talked, to this is the best way to see America; with all imaginable terrains of America laying in your way to challenge your voyage.

The most important part of us getting across the country to the start of the TAT and back are the vehicles we would use to do so.  We knew we would need vehicles that we could be confident in their reliability, off road capability,  and aftermarket support (plus they had to be sexy of course!).  All of these qualities are hard to find wrapped up in one package;  we researched long and hard at scouring forums, YouTube and picking anyone’s brain we could trying to decide what we should use as our platforms.

In the end our decisions were easy, both the Jeep Wrangler and Toyota Tacoma are the most proven vehicles on and off road.  With strong bones and endless aftermarket options to customize our rigs to exactly how we would need them we knew we could not go wrong.  With these decisions made we then had to build out each vehicle to be able to conquer our trip across America, and the many that follow. We will be sure to keep you all updated on the website and our social media outlets of our progress in vehicle builds and our eventual trip across the country!
